Of course, as of tonight, 12:58 am, EST, I have not heard anything from anyone. He said he would have to call the dealership, the district warranty representative, and consider some other variables and I would hear from the dealer within 24-48 hours. We spoke, and to make this short, he said that GM would mostly likely not pay the entire bill, but might pay some, but he couldn't promise anything. She said she would transfer me to a regional warranty representative. I called and the woman I spoke with was really nice and sympathetic, but said it was out of her authority to approve the warranty. I talked with the Fixed Operations Manager and he agreed to reduce the labor rate to keep the bill as low as he could since I had to pay out-of-pocket. No matter, the dealer stood their ground that GM would not pay and they couldn't eat the cost. The tech also stated it could have been an issue with the surface of the pipe where it bolts to the head, the previous technician didn't torque the bolts properly, or could have been the gasket simply was bad. The technician came up and said he saw no reason it should be leaking. However, yesterday, 14 months and 10,000 miles later, that gasket began to leak again! I took it back to the dealer and they said because it was repaired under the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty and that had expired, GM would not cover the repair again.same leak.same place. I took it to the dealer and they said it was covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I understand this has been a common issue and have read the TSB. It is in excellent condition, but after two months of purchasing the car, the crossover pipe gasket began to leak. If anyone can help me find someone to talk with at GM, who cares and has a pair of kahunas to make a decision, please let me know.
